How to Make Grocery Shopping More Efficient

It’s the weekend. You’ve got your to-do list, and it’s time to tackle the groceries. But what should you buy? What do you need that you don’t already have? And how do you get everything in one trip?

We’ve got a few tips to help you maximize your weekly grocery list.

  1. Make a list. This may seem obvious, but it’s easy to forget when you’re in the middle of cooking or cleaning up—just write it down! If your list is on paper, it will be easier for you to remember what needs buying and what has already been purchased, which will help prevent unnecessary trips back to the store.
  2. Be realistic with yourself about how much time you have available this week (and next week). If there are only two days before the weekend when you can go shopping, make sure that those two days are full of errands—shopping for groceries should not be one of them!
  3. Check your pantry before heading out; if there are items that are about to expire or just aren’t very good anymore, toss them out now so they won’t end up in your cart at checkout later this week!
